David Dalaithngu AM

  • Prominent indigenous actor and dancer David Dalaithngu AM, has died on 29/11/2021, aged 68 from lung cancer. Dalaithngu was cast in the outstanding film Walkabout (Nicolas Roeg, 1971) making him one of the first Aboriginal characters portrayed on the big screen. He was celebrated for his role in 1976 film Storm Boy (Henri Safran, 1976). He also played in: Crocodile Dundee (Peter Faiman, 1986), Rabbit-Proof Fence (Phillip Noyce, 2002), Australia (Baz Luhrmann, 2008).
