David Dalaithngu AM (1953-2021)

David Dalaithngu AM (1953-2021)

Prominent indigenous actor and dancer David Dalaithngu Gulpilil, has died on 29/11/2021, aged 68 from lung cancer. Dalaithngu starred in Walkabout (Nicolas Roeg, 1971), a great film that portrayed the first Aboriginal characters on the big screen. The actor was celebrated also for his role in 1976 film Storm Boy (Henri Safran, 1976). He also played in: Crocodile Dundee (Peter Faiman, 1986), Rabbit-Proof Fence (Phillip Noyce, 2002), Australia (Baz Luhrmann, 2008).
